A wake up call, Mr PM !!

Disturbed! Completely disturbed! First by the inhuman incident that shook the souls of individuals, then by the response Delhi got after protest. Who is responsible? How could we have avoided the barbaric crime? Why whole Delhi came onto the streets? How the situation went out of control which could have been easily pacified? Condition of rape victim has started deteriorating again, she has already undergone multiple life saving surgeries. Saw the picture of police constable Mr. Subhash Tomar(47) who died of cardiac arrest while performing his duties, he was found lying helplessly on the ground during the protest and was rushed to hospital where he was not able to survive.
So many disturbing pictures are already revolving all around facebook, which are telling the story of what has happened during these two days of protest.

Saturday, when protest started; youth were on the streets with a demand for a stricter implementation of laws against rape cases, granting of fast track courts which can provide justice in a specified time limit. What was wrong in that? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Demands were well justified and were put forward by common man of Delhi. For the first time there has been such a movement which was getting coordinated without any major leadership. There were no Anna and Arvind initiation this time; it was due to strong communication going on through social media and mobile phones.  People were on the streets with banners and slogans demanding nothing but justice.

What could have been the reaction on this from any sensible government? What everyone expected was a dialogue from a responsible representative of govt over the issue which could have easily contained the situation on the first day itself. But to everyone’s surprise, no one from the officials came out to speak to the public. Moreover our home minister said that “we can’t go to public for all the issues”. So the govt ‘by the’ people was not ‘for the’ people this time.  This was more than sufficient reason to aggravate the anger. When I personally expected our PM to address the nation on this, that guy was hiding somewhere with no time for his country man. I don’t understand if he was expecting that this is just a day long crowd which would disperse by itself. May be he has forgotten the statistics this time that India is currently a nation of youth and 65% of population are under 35 years of age. And after all that this governance has given us, this youth has started seeking answers. This time too they were there for an answer, which was completely ignored for the whole day of protest.

This was the spark which resulted into fire and we have seen thousands of more people joining the protest late night. Still our so called PM didn’t care to come out and speak to the people.  All that happened was Sonia Gandhi had few words late in the night when the protesters were outside her residence. Still no time limits were talked and all diplomatic words were used. Came Sunday and the protest was intensified when no one was willing to go his or her home without any conclusion over the topic. Lathicharge, water cannons, tear gas bombs and everything was tried on the public which was reluctant to go back. Hard to imagine, but true, our PM was still sleeping instead of addressing the nation, what could be worse than this? It took two days for people to see a retard speech where all he did was to read a prewritten material, may be provided by someone else and not self written, with the gesture of a energy less man, facing down, to read, while speaking and asking the cameraman , at the end, if he did ok with the speech. These are certainly not traits of a leader!

A girl gets brutally raped and was thrown onto the streets to fight for life, everyone except the politicians felt the pain. A 47 year old police man was lying on the ground seeking help and died in hospital today, sad to see but already politics has started on this. Hundreds of protester including old age men and women were seriously injured during the lathicharge.

Where are we heading to? Who is responsible? Where is the law and order of my country? Why the criminals have no fear of laws? Just because our government is not capable enough to act, these crimes are allowed to happen in our society? Just because we do not have a proper leader as our PM, we won’t get our demands met? We are witnessing a time when ‘Prime Minister’ of India is considered as a burden by majority. A time when we have the right to speak but it will be unheard. A time when we don’t have much faith left on Indian democracy. A time when ‘Justice’ is just a word to console the victim.

“Mr PM, The country won’t be able to survive culturally only with the Foreign Investments and Reservations bills. There is much more needed to elevate the country as a whole.  Social infrastructure, educational reforms, long term perspectives towards democracy to bring out a transparent system are much more needed. I remember the time few years back when there was the air of 2020-Developed India all over, When I was proud of the Prime Minister and President of India, when I wanted to be like them. Can you bring back the time?”
